EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

American College of Physicians (ACP) Membership: Besides building a passion for Internal Medicine, a goal of this group is to teach students to be leaders and advocates for patients. By being a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP) students have the opportunity to participate in regional events and engage in organized medicine.

Community Service: This year the Internal Medicine interest group has chosen "Fight Hunger" as our theme. We have chosen to dedicate our time to two projects that align with this theme.

  • California Northstate University Community Garden: We continue to maintain the organic garden on CNU campus (next to CNU's cafe). We have and will donate produce to local food banks to fight hunger.

  • Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services: One of the functions of this organization is to distribute food to those in need in the Sacramento area. Our members help package and organize food before it is donated to families in need. See our Activities and Community Service page for more information.

Lunch time lectures: We host local physicians for lunch to speak about their experiences in Internal Medicine and journey to its related subspecialities.
