3rd Year Clerkship Information Session (September) 

​

Two information sessions were held regarding the nature of third year rotations and how to ace 3rd year clerkships, with Drs. Raj and Yip. 

Candied Apple Fundraiser (September) 

​

Hand dipped candied apples were sold. Proceeds were stored to be used to fund future AMA-MSS hosted events.

Organized Medicine Information Session (September) 

​

Eduardo Martinez, Associate Director for the Center for Government Relations for the CMA, spoke about organized medicine, his role in the CMA, current policies being discussed in the CMA, and how medical students can get involved.  

USMLE Prep for Step Panel (October)

​

UC Davis upperclassmen medical students came to CNUCOM to provide students with information regarding the USMLE step 1 as well as shared how they personally prepared for the test.

CMA House of delegates meeting (October) 

​

CNUCOM students attended the annual CMA house of delegates meeting. Our delegate and alt. delegate represented our school in stances regarding different policies that affects the future of medicine in California. Other students attended to watch the CMA in action and to present posters of their research at the meeting.

AMA Interim meeting in Orlando (October)

Our AMA-MSS delegate and alt. delegate represented CNUCOM at the AMA interim meeting in Orlando, voting on resolutions to be represented by the AMA

Discussion of health insurance systems  (November) 

​

A discussion was held at CNUCOM where students discussed, compared and contrasted American health insurance policies with those of other countries. The discussion was centered around the book "The Healing of America" by T.R. Reid.

Hep. B education for the Sac Chinese Culture foundation: east meets west health fair (Dec 2016)

​

The AMA-MSS chapter at CNUCOM hosted a booth on hepatitis B education, with the goal of raising awareness of the prevalence of hep. B in Chinese Americans and getting people to screen for hep B at the fair.

SSVMS annual installation dinner (Jan 2017)

​

Our students attended the annual SSVMS dinner in Sacramento along with some CNUCOM faculty and our CNU president, Dr. Cheung!

AMA annual meeting in Chicago (May) 

​

Our AMA-MSS delegate and alt. delegate represented CNUCOM at the AMA annual meeting in Chicago, voting on resolutions to be represented by the AMA.
