CNUCOM AMA-MSS hosted an health education table on HPV at the annual Celebrando healthfair health in Sacramento.
AMA-MSS Interim Assembly Meeting in Atlanta, GA (November)
Sponsored by the California Medical Association, our delegate and alternate delegate went to the annual AMA-MSS meeting in Atlanta to disscuss healthcare policies.
SSVMS Annual Dinner (January)
Our students went to the annual Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society dinner, students were sponsored by local physician members.
CNUCOM AMA-MSS Bake Sale (March)
Talented members held our first bake sale selling homemade cookies and macarons to fund raise for future events.
Mini Medical School Day (March)
Undergraduate students from the local area were invited to experience medical school for a day. Agenda included auditing a lecture and touring the campus. There was also a presentation on medical school timelines, applications and a Q&A session with CNU medical students during lunch.
USMLE Step 1 and Residency Match Panel (March)
Former residency directors, current resident and medical student gave our M1 class insight into how to prepare for the USMLE Step 1 exam, how to effectively apply for residency and what the important criteria are in matching into residency programs. It was followed by Q&A and discussion with the students.
Lunchtime talk: Leadership and Medicine (April)
Dr. Amir Sweha talked to our students about what leadership means in today's medical practices, a doctor's role in a healthcare team and the evolving nature of healthcare today.
