President: Tanmayee Yenumula
Tanmayee graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2014, in three years and with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. She took a gap year where she worked under the supervision of a vascular surgeon, focusing mainly of studies on abdominal aortic aneurysms and dialysis patients. Currently, Tanmayee's interests in surgical specialties include acute care surgery, orthopedics, and pediatric surgery. In her free time, Tanmayee likes to play tennis, go snowboarding, travel, and go in search of the best food around.
Vice- President #1: Matthew Habib
Matthew Habib graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2014 summa cum laude. His undergraduate research investigated the effects of traumatic brain injury on mental workload in a joint study between LMU and UCLA. In his free time, he enjoys hiking the great outdoors, working out, and motorsports.
Vice- President #2: Farrah Nasrollahi
Farrah is a UC Berkeley grad and double major in comparative literature and integrative biology. A fun fact about her is that she can speak farsi and spanish. She loves dogs and snowboarding. She also loves surgery: heal with steel!
Treasurer: Mohammad Aziz
Mohammad graduated from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2013. He spent time after graduation doing ALS research at the UCI School of Medicine; where he investigated the role of glutamate excitotoxicity in motor neuron injury. His interests in surgery are broad and include orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma surgery and ENT. He loves to play basketball and is a die hard Kobe Bryant fan. In his free time, he enjoys to cook, gym, and make grandiose travel plans.
Secretary and Public Relations Chairperson: Christina Cheung
Christina Cheung is a first year medical student at California Northstate University College of Medicine. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences from University of California, Irvine. As an ER scribe, her fascination with surgery grew as she watched how quickly and calmly trauma surgeons dealt with trauma cases. Her goal as the Outreach Coordinator of the CNU SIG is to spread this interest in this field of medicine.
